Shrimp and GritsShawanne Mickey
Shrimp and Grits gets all the attention and excitement down south! This famous southern dish originated in Charleston, South Carolina over 70 years ago. The meal consists of fresh peeled deveined shrimp which are sautéed in bacon grease inside a well-seasoned cast iron skillet. The pink succulent shrimp are tossed with green onion, celery, yellow onion, garlic, crushed red peppers, parsley, a splash of chicken broth for flavor, a dab of hot sauce, and of course Ms. Mickey’s Bayou Cajun Spice seasoning. Serve this with a plate (or bowl) of grits and oh-my-goodness! This ladies and gents is what we call a good-hearty meal that you can enjoy for breakfast, brunch, or dinner!
